What is Advantic?
Advantic is CRG Industries’ series of lightweight, engineered syntactic foams made with glass, polymer, or ceramic microballoons embedded in a resin matrix such as cyanate ester, silicone, or epoxy. Our exclusive mixing process produces syntactic foams for a variety of applications and markets, from acoustic panels to aerospace structural cores. Advantic’s low density, high uniformity, strength, and minimum void content make the material beneficial to wide and diverse markets. We can provide custom, high-performance Advantic for small and large projects.

Advantic can be custom-fabricated in many different shapes including blocks, cylinders, and even thin sheets. The density of Advantic ranges from 0.30g/cc to 0.70g/cc, providing a range of syntactic suitable for specific applications.

We have developed a unique process to produce this strong yet lightweight syntactic. Our process involves a low-stress resin removal system in which the excess resin is extracted from the syntactic material before the resin is cured. Along with the excess resin, any microspheres that may have been broken during the mixing process are also removed. The resulting material has low density and void-free content, essential for high-integrity composites.

CRG Industries serves its customers by being a reliable and cost-effective syntactic foam supplier. We can provide raw stock or a custom-molded finished product. Our engineers have extensive experience in syntactic formulation and are able to select from a list of materials to formulate a syntactic that meets our customers’ needs.

We leverage support from our sister research and development company, Cornerstone Research Group Inc., to provide customers with a team of engineers to assist with product development and customization as needed. CRG Industries also has access to Cornerstone’s full test labs for quality testing and quick-turnaround, reformulation testing.
