Advantic is a syntactic foam made by mixing or combining hollow glass microspheres with an epoxy resin. This high strength syntactic provides a solution to many of the problems associated with other common tooling materials. CRG Industries’ proprietary mixing process minimizes the number of microspheres that break during mixing. This enables Advantic to maintain low density with high uniformity and minimum void content.

Advantic is lightweight, so it reduces wear and tear on capital equipment, which saves money on repairs and replacement. Advantic also has low thermal conductivity and specific heat, so it requires little warm-up time and virtually eliminates plug sticking during thermoforming. Finally, Advantic is dimensionally stable and will keep its shape over a wide range of temperatures.

Other vendors can supply commodity syntactic foams, but when your project needs specialized attention, count on CRG Industries to supply the custom materials you need.

Safety
This material can be safely handled without taking any special ventilation, personal hygiene or flammability precautions. However, machining, sanding or grinding Advantic generates a nuisance dust that in large amounts may be irritating to the eyes and respiratory tract. When machining this material, always wear nuisance particle masks and safety goggles with side shields, and establish good local ventilation. Please consult the MSDS for more safety information.

Machining
Advantic can easily be machined using standard carbide-tipped tools. Advantic can be used in sheet-fed, rotary, or in-line machines for a variety of applications.
